Full Text
Z. G. Lone has had his trial for the murder of Jenkins, and was unanimously acquitted by the court. However wrong his conduct may appear, it was no doubt fully justified by law. He was in possession of the property, had fenced in his well, and ordered Jenkins not to get water on his premises. Jenkins, however, refused to recognize the order, armed himself and friends cut down the fastened gate, and when met by Lone in the front yard and ordered to leave the premises, refused to do so, but continued walking towards the well when Lone shot him. It was a most unfortunate affair, and will hang heavily upon Lone's future career.
