Full Text
"The argument of taxing the colonies is now judged, by every sensible man, to be imprudent and impolitical; and from the language of Lord North, and the other Ministers in Parliament, they seem to imply that if the colonies would recognize the authority of Parliament not only the Glass Act should be repealed, or suspended, but a security offered that no other law should be enacted during a century for the like purposes. I wish the differences were accommodated, seeing our enemies avail themselves of our distractions; and what wounds this country must ultimately affect you in like manner."
