THE LOCK ON OUR POSTOFFICE DOOR

That blasted lock on the United States postoffice door in St. Ignatius is a G-- D-- nuisance! Why not speak up frankly and sharply, even if a little on the "shady" side and see if something cannot be done about it. It's of the type that all that is necessary to lock the door is push a little button on the end. A child playing at the door can easily do it. Some nit-wit or prankster can do it. Anyone can do it. Maybe a slam will do it.

Then along comes someone in the evening and wants to get "the mail." Maybe he has worked in the field all day; maybe she washed or ironed; maybe father took a much needed snooze Sunday afternoon and thought he'd go down to the post office in the evening and get his Sunday paper; maybe the business man needs important mail and could not get away during the rush of the day. Well, whoever it may be or whatever the circumstance, if they go to the postoffice It's brilliantly lit up ..... and the

St. Ignatius has the nicest post-office people in the world. It's just that damned lock that was on the door when it was an entrance to a private office. It doesn't belong on a public building. Off with the blasted thing! And the sooner the better!

door is locked! Fine publicity for the town! Good public relations policy, isn't it? Could the farmer or the business man be blamed if he took a bar and pried the door open? Not a bit!
