Delaware's greatest trap
tournament will
be staged
Lakehurst Gun
Club, May
27 and 28, according
to announcement made by the
Trapshooting Association.
The program
this
year
carries
cash
purses and the trophies
many and beautiful.
Of
the State body believe the
tournament
will
attract
more shooters than
any of the kind.
Championships will
be decided at the meet. Dr. W. R. Pires
of
Milford, will defend
the singles
he won last year.
This event
will be at 200 targets, sixteen
entries. H. C. Williamson, of
Wilmington, is the doubles
champion while J. M. McVaugh, of
Rising Sun, will defend the handicap
championship. Last year A. L. Jensen,
of Wilmington, won
the all-around title by breaking
349 out of 400 targets.
Winners
of State championships will
be eligible to represent Delaware
in special events at the Grand
American Handicap tournament
held at Vandalia, Ohio, May
20 to 27 inclusive. One special
feature of this year's State
tournament will be the race between
shooters to qualify for entry
in the All-American team event,
an added feature on the Grand American
program.
Highest scores in the singles
at the State tournament
eligible to take part in the
race, August 24.
