CLAIMED PORTER IDAHO ORE EXTENSIONS IN MELVIN GROUP

The extension of the main Porter-Idaho ore zone into the adjoining Melvin group is said on reliable authority to have been definitely established by recent investigations and formed the principal incentive to the organization of a new unit syndicate, known as the Melvin Mining Syndicate, announcement of which was made by the Herald last week.

Samples taken from the lead are said to have given assay returns ranging up to over 900 ounces per ton.

The group includes five properties lying along the north side of the Porter-Idaho.

It is understood that funds sufficient to cover a major portion of the contemplated unit allotments were available even before the certificates were printed, with large additional amounts insured if required.

Activities looking to the development of the property as far as possible this fall are now in progress under the direction of Reginald Hodgson, of Stewart & Batten, consulting engineers.
