Campaign in State and
County; Plan Banquet.
Fifty prominent democrats of Bernalillo county met in the office of W. C. Oestreich yesterday afternoon for a discussion of state and county politics, particularly with reference to changes in chairmen, both in this county and in the state organization.
Mr. Oestreich has tendered his resignation as county chairman and his successor is yet to be named. In the meantime the former leader has been prevailed upon to continue the work. It is understood, however, that his wish will be granted and that he will be relieved of command by the next campaign.
There is some talk of grooming Mr. Oestreich for state chairman should Arthur Seligman, the present director of democratic destinies, resign. Mr. Oestreich has not indicated that he would accept should the state chairmanship be tendered him.
The local democrats are planning a large banquet and love feast soon at which time further discussion of state and county directing heads is expected.
