One William Campbell, acting as secretary of an organization backed by the copper trust and power interests to fight the Nonpartisan league in Montana, has been sending out a questionnaire to various localities to "feel" the sentiment. One of these was received by Joseph Deml, Bloomfield, Mont., and Mrs. Deml proceeded to fill out the questionnaire as follows:
Q. How many voters do you estimate there are in your precinct? Estimate them as follows:
A. Democrats -(None).
Republicans (One Ike Jones.)
Socialists -- (One Sam Sansborn).
Nonpartisan Leaguers- - (125).
Q. Have any Socialist or Nonpartisan league organizers worked in your community recently?
A. None of your blank business.
Q. Have any meetings been held?
A. (Same as above).
Q. Are any meetings scheduled for the near future?
A. (Ditto).
Q. Have you distributed any literature for us at any time? (Anti-League literature is meant).
A. Not on your life.
Q. How many copies of literature of each issue will you distribute?
A. None.
Q. Could you perfect a small organization in your precinct, willing to assist us in this fight against socialism?
A. Can't fool 'em here any longer.
Q. Is the Nonpartisan league gaining or losing in your district?
A. Two hopeless cases left (Ike Jones and Sam Sansborn).
Q. Have you any suggestions to make that would be helpful?
A. Yes, save your money for some useful purpose or put it in the stove.
