MAN KILLED AS
AUTO AND RAIL
MOTOR COLLIDE

BUCKEYE, Ariz.-Colliding with a small railroad motor car at a grade crossing near here Friday, S. T. Thing, of Calexico, Calif., was thrown from the automobile he was driving and died almost immediately from a broken neck. He was taken to Buckeye for medical attention but died before reaching here.

The accident occurred about 4:30 Friday afternoon at the Southern Pacific main line crossing two miles above Liberty on the Buckeye road.

Thing, accompanied by his 15-year-old son, was proceeding towards California in a large touring car.

The railroad car, with about 30 railroad employees on it, was directed towards Buckeye.

The son was only slightly injured while one man on the railroad vehicle suffered minor injuries. The auto is a complete wreck.

Thing's wife, living in San Diego, was notified of his death. Dr. G. C. Rubel, of Buckeye, examined the body upon arrival here, fixing a broken neck as the cause of his death. Thing was about 50 years of age.
