Installment On Security
by Lester Citron

Security conscious Greenbelt has begun to pay another installment on its collective peace of mind.
The Ambulance Club drive has just started, but the initial response to the Rescue Squad's very modest request for the minimum contribution for membership has been better than it has been in years.
It seems to be generally felt that the traditional $2.00 is hardly enough for the rapid service expected at any time of the night or day, regardless of weather or effort required. Many families have expressed surprise that in this time of rising prices, both the high quality of service and the low Ambulance Club membership fees have remained the same as in previous years.
It should be emphasized that in order to gain mass support in Greenbelt, to permit families with smaller resources to take part in the Ambulance Club drive, the sum requested was deliberately kept low. As was expected, families with larger resources have recognized this fact and have contributed more generously.
The "Thank you," is the same to all. The service is the same to all. An urgent request for an ambulance is answered by a quick response by the Rescue Squad and no patient is ever asked if his installment on security was paid this year.
