The Mississippi Repudiators.—It appears, from a statement in the Mississippi papers, that A. G. Brown, the Loco-Foco candidate for the office of Governor of that State, borrowed from the Union Bank, (the bonds for the procurement of the capital of which he is now in favor of repudiating.) as principal, the sum of $15,000, and has he is liable, as endorser, for the sum of $50,647; making the handsome sum of $65,617, which he will get rid of by the repudiating process! Roger Barton, also, an avowed Loco-Foco candidate, on the repudiating ticket, for the United States Senate, is liable to the Union Bank, as an endorser, for $6,260: and ex-Parson Hammett, one of their candidates for Congress, for the very modest sum of $1,000, one half as principal, and the other half as endorser. What wonder that repudiators abound in Mississippi, when so large a premium is offered for roguery!—Lou. Journal.
