Saturday a shooting affray attended with fatal results occurred at Rawlins. The facts, as given to us by a gentleman who came down this morning, are as follows: Two men named Smith, father and son, and Gregory, who was formerly a proprietor in the Oasis saloon in this city, went after another Smith, with the determination of "getting away" with him. In the melee which followed the meeting, young Smith was killed, and the elder it is believed, mortally wounded. Gregory was also wounded, but not severely. The Smith whom the three failed to "get away with," escaped unhurt, and surrendered himself to the authorities. His examination was to have been held to-day. It was expected, the elder Smith could not survive to-day. Such is the statement of this affair, as we have it.
