April 8. The Recorder yesterday, at Guildhall, in summing up to the Jury the arguments relative to the finding of the Bill against Whetham the messenger, concluded with advising them to find a special verdict, because the proof and decision of the whole cause must depend on a point of law. On which Mr. Alderman Townshend immediately got up, and asked,-- "Well, Mr. Recorder, and who is to judge of this point of law, and this verdict?--The Judge, or the Jury?"--The Recorder sat down without speaking a word.
