Demos Jubilant Over Maine Victory

The saying that as Maine goes so goes the nation today loomed as a boomerang to Republicans due to the fact that Maine has elected a Democratic governor at a time when it was felt that enthusiasm for Ike and the Republican party was running high.

Eisenhower Sees No Democratic Trend

While Democrats are jubilant over their victory in Maine, President Eisenhower doesn't see in it any trend toward the Democratic Party. He says that the man who was elected Governor is extremely popular. Four years ago the same thing happened.
