DETENTION OF THE YORK CARS.

The train of cars due here yesterday morning, at half past 8 o'clock, from York, did not arrive until about 1 o'clock, P.M., in consequence of the breaking of two engines on the road. The first engine broke near the "Summit Level," when another engine was obtained, and the train came down as far as "Rider's Switch," about 12 miles from Baltimore, when one of its axles broke, and they were compelled to take the engine from a burthen train, which brought the passenger cars into the city. Neither the cars or passengers were injured.
