Lowell Anti-Slavery Society.—On Friday evening last, Mr. C. Stuart addressed a full assembly in Mr. Twining's meeting-house on the condition of Slaves, and the duty of promoting immediate emancipation. He came directly to his subject in a lucid and convincing manner, with a good spirit, which enchained the attention of the audience to a late hour. The impression of his startling facts and arguments must have been deep and salutary. The cause of abolition came home to the feelings of the people in a manner it had never done before; and our society are indebted to their friend from abroad for setting their enterprise among our fellow citizens on a foundation which will not soon be shaken.—Lowell Observer.
