Farmington, December 18.

The following melancholy Affair happened here a
few Days ago, viz. On the 15th Instant Mr. Nathaniel Bunnel
(a healthy young Man in the twenty sixth Year of his
Age) went a hunting, and not returning at Night, his
Friends were concern'd at his tarrying. The next Day
his Brothers and Neighbours went to search for him.
and finding his Track, followed it, and found he had
been in pursuit of some Deer, and they supposed as
Night was coming on he made the best of his Way to
his House; and finding where he had made several
Halts, (trying to kindle a Fire) and that he kept short,
at length they came to his dead Body, prostrate on the
Snow, within a Mile of his own House: he had stamped
his Hat and Cap into the Snow. which was trod down
round about him, and his Gun stood by a Tree, at a
little Distance. The Jury found he died by fatiguing
himself in the Cold. He left a sorrowful Widow and
two Children.
