Juvenile Burglars Come To "End Of The Trail"

A Juvenile burglary wave ended Friday with the round-up of four teen-age youths by a squad headed by Sgt. Jack Smith and aided by Dets. Jack Peaks, Ralph Hogan and Raymond H. Schlangen.

The youths, three of them aged 15 and the fourth 16, admitted burglarizing 24 places beginning back in 1949.

Following a tip, Sgt. Smith began a rigid investigation of the $95 burglary of the Palace Bowling Alley on W. Third st. January 2, Smith and his detail began with a 15 year old pinsetter and from then on it was a matter of running down the other three who confessed the other jobs.

According to Smith, many of the places broken into resulted in "nothing taken" and the most of the "takes were of small value."

The quartet is being held in the detention home.
