WHY NOT ANSWER?

The Inventory of the Log Cabin Furniture purchased by our Governor, with the Thousand Dollars appropriated by the Whigs who made so much ado over Mr. Van Buren's French Bedstead, is still wanting. We insist that the people shall see it. Come! come! Gentlemen! No hiding the List. Let it out.

The alternative is before you. Governor Morehead has drawn the Thousand Dollars out of the Treasury, and either has laid it out or he has not. If he has, why not tell the people how it was done, and what they have got in the Log Cabin Palace for their money.

If he has not laid it out, then he has removed so much money from the Treasury, and committed a crime which we will not write against our Governor, because we believe he has, in fact, laid it out for Finery and Tomfoolery, and such like. But he won't let the people see the List, until after the elections are over! Answer Mr. Register.
