PERSONAL PARAGRAPHS.
M. B. Draper, manager of the National hotel, Indianapolis, is in the city the guest of his intimate friend, W. G. Elliott, of the Inter Ocean hotel.
W. R. Schnitger, deputy United States marshal, returned from Laramie yesterday.
Augustus J. Bowie, jr., superintendent of the Father De Smet mine, near Deadwood, and a celebrated mining expert, has been seriously ill for some time.
T. M. Fisher, Charles Spoor and J K. Jeffrey are expected back from Golden this afternoon.
Gov. Hoyt is expected back soon from his visit to western Wyoming.
Prof. Mayer will go on a visit to Laramie City this afternoon.
Will H. Harte returned yesterday from Illinois.
Wm. E. Wheeler, esq. of the Evans ton Age, is in the city this morning.
J. Jay Joslin, the Cheyenne and Denver dry goods merchant, has gone to New York after new goods.
Jay Cooke, the eminent banker, and financial agent for the government during the late civil war, passed through the city yesterday with a party en route for California, where he will inspect some mining lands of which he is the happy possessor. Mr. Cooke's residence at present is in Philadelphia.
Mr. Baxter, the tailor, is lying seriously ill at his residence in this city.
H. Franklin, esq., of the firm of Gottstein, Idelman & Co., returned yesterday from Denver.
Isaac LeFevre will leave this afternoon for a visit in Colorado.
George W. Roberts, Omaha; W. E. Howe, Neb.; Albert Wikniski, San Francisco, and J. S. Hoke, Chicago, are at the Inter Ocean.
Mr. Albert Freeland departed yesterday for his ranch near Sherman.
At the Railroad house are: J. W. Millington and J. Richards, Chicago; F. L. Carter, Fort Collins; C. W. Handy and John E. Cowles, New York, and R. R. Robinson, Denver
The following parties may be found at Dyer's: N. H. Russell, Geo. Lawrence, F. Williamson and lady, Deadwood, and A. Moore, Sidney.
