In Frederick county, two Republicans are elected, Mr. Hawkins and Mr. Imes, and two Federalists, whose names we have not heard.
In Prince George's county, at last, the Republicans have broken the charm. Two Republicans (Col. Cross and Mr. R. T. Hall) and two Federalists (Mr. F. Hall and Mr. Somerville) are elected.
In Hartford county, four Republicans are elected, as before.
In Talbot, four Republicans are elected, being a gain of three.
In Dorchester, four Federalists; last year three and one—a Republican loss of three.
In Montgomery, our adjoining county, the votes are thus reported in the Baltimore American:
Three Federalists and one of the Republican candidates are elected. A gain to the Republicans of one.
Calvert has chosen three Federalists and one Republican. Republican loss, two.
The elections have been unusually close in every county where there was a contest.
So far, the result appears by the following recapitulation:
Republican Federal
Senate 15 31
The probability is, that the Federal Party will again have the majority on joint ballot.
