The New Hope Confab
During July 6, 7, 8 the New Hope Baptist Sunday B. Y. P. U. convention convened at Zion Grove Baptist Church. It was the most successful session that the convention has had in the last few years.
Rev. J. M. Gates, president of the B. Y. P. U. department, was unanimously elected president of the Sunday School department.
Rev. Gates' elevation was due to his work with the organization. The B. Y. P. U. department with its obstructive team has enabled it to increase both financially and numerically in size.
With Rev. Gates at the helm he has formulated a competent five plan in the B. Y. P. U. department.
The enthusiasm filled the young people with the enthusiasm to use their best talent in forming a musical and speaking program which has been greatly appreciated by the number of people who filled the church in Friday night to its utmost.
Rev. J. M. Gates, president of the Sunday School department. Rev. W. R. Jones, vice president of the B. Y. P. U. department. Mr. Bennett re-elected secretary of the Sunday School department. Miss B. Horn was re-elected secretary of B. Y. P. U. department.
With these determined officers and achievements made by the convention, new courage has been taken in making greater success in the future.
