Little Two Year Old Taken to Emergency Hospital
Robert Basil, the two-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Basil, of Germantown, was the victim of a horrible accident last evening. The child with his mother was visiting the family of his uncle, Mr. Robert Brown, near Millersville, this county.
The dog is owned by the child's uncle, and not being accustomed to children, the animal is said not to be fond of the little ones. The child was wandering about the place near the house when seized upon by the dog, which bit the little boy's face in a terrible manner. A piece of flesh was chewed out of the child's nose and its left cheek badly torn, the flesh being lacerated in several places.
The child was brought into town as soon as possible and taken to the Emergency Hospital, where he was rendered surgical treatment and later removed to his home at Germantown.
The wound is a very ugly one and is thought to be dangerous. The dog that bit the child is a pet dog of the child's uncle, Mr. Robert Brown, and is not thought to be mad. The injured child is receiving every care and attention within medical and surgical skill, and nothing serious is apprehended.
