DEDICATION.
The meeting house recently built in this village by the Freewill Baptist Society, was on February the 22d inst. dedicated to the service of Almighty God as a place of worship. The exercises were performed in the following manner, viz. Introductory prayer by Eld. J. Parkham. Reading of select portions of Scripture and dedicatory prayer by Eld. S. Dana.—Sermon by Eld. H. Stevens from Psalms 27:4.—Concluding prayer by Eld. J. Emery. Several appropriate hymns were sung in the spirit and with harmony. The weather was pleasant and the house was filled to overflowing. A blessed season was enjoyed, and the hearts of God's people were comforted while anticipating the happy time when they shall inhabit the building of God, an house not made with hands eternal in the heavens. Meetings of worship were attended in the afternoon and the three succeeding days, it being the winter session of the Sandwich Q. Meeting. The preaching was spiritual and the exhortations warm and to the purpose. A number of mourners came forward for prayers, and several during the meeting, (and some since) professed to find peace. Truly it was a good time, and we think a season that will long be remembered. To God be all the glory.
The next session of the Sandwich Q. M. is to be holden in Bartlett, on the last Saturday and Sabbath in May. Q. M. Conference on Friday preceding at 10 o'clock.
M. CHENEY, Clerk.
