MONITOR readers who knew Eddie Jones, son of John Jones, who died here some years since, will remember that the young man obtained a knowledge of banking, went to California and became cashier of the Pasadena National Bank. In the Cosmopolitan magazine of December, an article appeared which gave an account of fishing near Catalina, an island on the Pacific coast, where fishermen caught with hook and line fish that weighed about three hundred pounds, landing one of them in the boat. A picture of the fishermen and their boat is given on page 144, the man standing in the boat being Mr. Jones, and the man sitting being the writer of the article, Prof. Holder. The robust figure of Mr. Jones doesn't comport with the figure of the lad, who went from here a few years ago.
