When E. L. Weber, ex-Senator and treasurer of the school board of West Feliciana, left that parish, he took with him all the books and documents relating to the school funds of that parish. Earnest endeavors have been made, several times since, to obtain these, in order to examine into the manner in which the parish school finances have been managed, but Weber, although he has persistently promised to return them, has, in fact, declined and refused to give them up.

The West Feliciana Sentinel insists that this shall end. It has reason to believe, it asserts, that the parish school funds have been misappropriated, and that the books are detained by Weber to prevent an exposure. It thinks that Weber, having been given ample time and opportunity to return the books, and having refused to do so, legal proceedings should be taken against him at once, to account in full for the school money that passed into his hands, as well as against his bondsmen, who are responsible for his acts as treasurer of the parish school board.
