White Plains, Nov. 6
We hear that the morning before the enemy made a sudden and unexpected movement from the several posts they had taken in our front.
They broke up their whole encampment the preceding night, and have advanced towards Kingsbridge and the North river.
Some accounts make the loss of the enemy on Monday evening about 400 in killed and wounded. All accounts agree, that col. Carr, of the 35th regiment, is among the number of the slain.
