ST. IGNATIUS POST

GROUP WANTS MORE INFORMATION ON ISSUES OF "VITAL IMPORTANCE"

A group of 17 persons have attached their names to a communication submitted to the three newspapers in Lake County. This group expresses thanks to Walter McDonald, chairman of the Tribal Council, for preparing for publication matters of interest to the Tribe. The opinion is also expressed that more of this information should be published. The letter follows:

Feb. 7, 1955

To the Editors of Flathead Courier Ronan Pioneer St. Ignatius Post

Dear Sirs:

We are happy to see that Walter W. McDonald, Chairman of the Tribal Council, has decided to publish matters of interest to all members of the tribe. It has been the opinion of members of the tribe that the Council has not kept the members of the tribe fully informed on issues of vital importance to all.

The trip to Washington, D. C., by Council members to discuss the 3rd generating unit is of vital interest and we are sure it is the wish of the majority that Mr. McDonald will publish a full report of what was accomplished in Washington, D. C., and how it will affect the people of the Flathead Tribe.
