To the Republicans of Prince George's County.

The election for Electors to choose the Senate of Maryland, takes place the first Monday in September next. Should the Federalists succeed, the political character of the state is decided forever. By means never to be forgotten, whilst our attachment to a free government remains, that party acquired two branches of the government in 1812. By the same unhallowed means, they have since maintained their ascendency. During this memorable period, they have furnished the most ample evidence of what would be their conduct, should they ever be permitted to enjoy the entire government. The elective franchise--the judiciary--the charter to the city of Baltimore--the choice of President & Vice-President by the people--all, all, would fall beneath their fell authority, should the people be so blind as to trust them with their confidence: Step forth then Prince Georgians, & avert the threatened storm. Assemble at Upper Marlborough on Wednesday the 3d day of April, as you have been already notified--nominate your candidates--re-appoint your committees, and make every necessary arrangement for an honorable and vigorous effort to regenerate the lost character of your county. Remember Allegany-- remember the decision of your own Bladensburg election--remember the judiciary--bear in mind the universal proscription from office of every republican in the state--think of the plunder of your treasury; and victory, yes, victory, will be yours.

Main Argument

republicans must unite and act decisively in the upcoming maryland senate election to defeat the federalists, who would destroy electoral freedoms, the judiciary, and other rights if they gain full control, based on their past corrupt actions since 1812.
