A Mail from the Giboyne arrived this Day by Way of Express; there are but few private Letters Merchants. What the News is we cannot say, be the Captain of the Packet reports, that there has been an Engagement in the Mediterranean between 11 English Men of War and 11 French, and that the greatest Part of the latter had been taken and carried into Gibraltar.

The Whitehall Evening Post says, the above French Fleet is that which sailed lately from Brest, and that seven of them are taken. and the rest dispersed.
