Charlotte Observer: It was at Salisbury, a day or two ago. Mr. Kerr Craig, lawyer, in the course of a defence of his client had occasion to say some pretty hard things about a man named Ackerbach. Ackerbach approached him the next day in a threatening attitude and demanded an apology, retraction or something of that sort. Mr. Craig declined to do as requested, but reminded Mr. Ackerbach that being crippled he was not at that time in a condition to fight him. The man persisted and Mr. Craig struck him with his cane a severe blow. Before he recovered friends interfered and the fight ended.
