Full Text

A CORRESPONDENT of yesterday's Every Evening, writing on the market question, arrives at the cranky conclusion that the location of the GAZETTE office on King street is the reason of our opposition to the project to move the market to French street.

We can inform this brilliant discoverer that the market on King street is more apt to prove a detriment than a benefit to the business of the GAZETTE, and that we oppose the change because such a course is in accordance with the desire of nine-tenths of our people. Private interests should always be made subservient to the public good.
