THE MONEY TREE
By ETHEL M. TROY
The relationship of the average man private property presents five major problems:
1. He must create it
2. He must preserve it against distintegration during the period of its accumulation;
3. The property must be transferred to his heirs with minimum loss and shrinkage;
4. The property must be administered so that the purposes for which it is created and transferred will be followed and completed;
5. The property must finally be distributed so that the ultimate purpose of its creation will be accomplished.
To solve these problems many types of investment organizations, holding companies, trusteeships, and administrator concerns have been set up. But the experience of a hundred years has proved that there is in the world of finance today no answer so complete, so satisfying, so absolutely certain as life insurance.
Life insurance is that form of personal property which provides immediate income when labor can no longer supply it income that is certain, continuous, automatic.
That which best does for our people the financial job they want done will survive.
Adjustment and improvement will be seen as a natural development in the growth of the institution, but where there is life there must be insurance of life; where there are hazards, there must be protection; where there are capabilities, there must be guarantees of the preservation of their value. So long as man recognizes family claims, so long as he breathes the breath of liberty and strives for personal freedom, so long will life insurance serve his needs. (Ref. - R. and R. Booklet No. 151).
