French NATIONAL ASSEMBLY.

The proceedings of this august body, to August 1, we have received. This assembly of patriots are hastening with rapidity toward the end of their labours.

Their last decrees appear to be marked with more efficiency than those which have preceded them—Among those are decrees, To suspend the exercise of the Executive Power, in the King, until the completion of the Constitution—To restore discipline to the army—To suppress Mobs and Riots—To appoint a responsible Governour to superintend the education of the Dauphin, &c. Their decrees, which will form the Constitution, are about Eighty in number. These will be presented to the King, intire, for his approbation—if he gives it, the Assembly will rise—if he will not approve, then—

We are not prophets.
