A course of child study lectures which has attracted an enrollment of over 1600 persons in eleven Virginia cities during the past three years, is now to be sent by radio into every section of the State. Under the auspices of the Virginia Congress of Parents and Teachers, six scientists will present over Station WBAP in Roanoke the new applications for biology, psychology, medicine, vocational guidance, economics and education, to the problems of child welfare.
The lectures begin on March 2 at 7:45 and continue at the same hour for nine successive Monday evenings. Parent-Teacher Association officers estimate that over 300 local organizations will be formed into child study groups to follow the radio series as the basis of their programs. Outlines and lists of recommended readings will be furnished.
"What the wisest and best parents want," in the phrase of the Philosopher Dewey, is understanding of the nature of childhood. The lectures are designed to help meet this need.
