Full Text

It is not singular, that since Col. Curtin, the opposition candidate for Governor, has made, according to their papers, a number of flaming and powerful speeches, that not one of them has been reported and published so that the people might read and examine their powerful effects? They must feel certain that his speeches will not bear a close examination by the people. Another undoubted reason is that Col. Curtin wishes to adapt his speeches to the peculiar localities in which he is speaking, and hence does not wish the speeches he has made in one section to precede him to another, and thus prevent him practicing upon his variations. The people will duly notice these things and act according to their good judgments, and elect Sir Andy to stay at home.—Crawford Democrat
