Full Text

[For the Gallipolis Journal.]

A Word of Advice To Those Who Wish To Keep In Health.—The late continuous rains having no doubt created unusual dampness in and about the premises of all our citizens—as it has about those of the writer of this article—it is reasonable to suppose that, unless this dampness is removed by a counteracting agency, much sickness must be engendered thereby, and cause our formerly so proverbially healthy place to become the seat of disease and death. An ounce of preventative is worth a pound of cure, and a single bushel of unslacked lime, sprinkled about damp premises and cellars, will not only have a tendency to keep away the fell destroyer, which we have cause to fear at this season of the year, but will save each family many a dollar laid out for doctor's bills.
