We are glad to learn that Major Dickinson, chief of staff of Gen. Magruder, who was wounded in the eye by a piece of shell, at the battle of Galveston, is now recovering, and there is some hope he will not lose his sight. He got his wound while on duty in the storm of grape and shell that swept down the street from one of the gunboats; and, as in the battles of the Peninsula, last summer, gained much credit for his intrepidity and fearlessness. His numerous friends here and elsewhere will be glad to hear of his recovery -Houston (Texas) Telegraph.
