WHOLE POLICE
FORCE ON DUTY

All the members on the police force are on duty to-day. Chief of Police Black has made extensive arrangements to preserve order during the day and to-night when the election returns begin to come in.

Officers are stationed at all the polling places in the city and this evening they will be sent where crowds are likely to congregate.

Yesterday was the regular day on which to make the night and day changes, but they were not made until last night and to-day. While the entire force is on duty to-day, one-half of the officers will have to remain on duty all night as well.

All saloons are closed and the police are keeping a watch on them.
