Make A-1 Records

Seven members of the senior class of Community High School can point with pride to perfect attendance records throughout 3½ years of their high school careers.

As announced by Clarence Ames, principal of the senior class, at the end of the first semester this year, these seven have never been absent nor tardy since their first day as freshmen, and have only one more semester to go to complete a perfect record for all four years.

The seven with 100% records are Marie Bovatsek and Joan Streze, from Oak Lawn; Norma Boyd, Walter Jankowski, and Beverly Lohse, from Blue Island; Pete Kahon, from Worth; and Julie Knox, Chicago.

"So near and yet so far," might be the lament of four other seniors, who have completed 2½ years without absence, or tardiness, but fell short of a perfect record by only one absence or tardiness during one period of their record at CHS.

These four who came so close to being cited are James Flores, Betty Good, James Jawor, Catherine Moore. Others who have gone 2½ years, including the past semester, without missing are Larry Lexow, Ross Ruthenberg and Sharon Schreiner.

Quite a sizeable number of seniors have managed to mark up perfect records for one full year in addition to the last semester. These include Carol Bigelow, Margaret Brown, Roy Brueggemann, Margaret Deak, James Downey, Ross Dring, Phyllis Hartl, Bruce Justin, Joseph Leja, Lynette Pompa, Fletcher Weathington, and Marvin Willett.

Another large group have succeeded in being at school every day on time for every class so far this year. These number Bernard Deters, Lynne Dreger, Ronald Drobney, Louise Fonta, Mable Goodwin, Lizzi Gravers on, Lois Homerding, Eula Horton, Eugene Iing, Mildred Johnson, Richard King, Laverne Koehne, Andy Kotlarz, Gerald LeBeau, Rose Ann McCarty, Patricia McGuire, Sandra Nel don, Doris Nienhouse, Jo Ordaz, Tom Ostendorf, Frances Pajak, Gail Panichi, Eugene Pataky, LeRoy Rybinski, Richard Seymour, Earl Simon, LaVonne Tatgenhorst.
