Return of Soldiers,—A board of officers, consisting of Brig. Gen. Truman Seymour, Surgeon James Simonds, U. S. A. and Captain James Rice, 1st Vt. Artillery, has been engaged in examining the patients in the several military hospitals in the State, with a view of returning such as were fit for duty to their regiments, and such as were only fit for garrison duty to the defenses of Washington. The result of the examination was as follows: At Burlington, 199 patients—sent to regiment, 9; to garrison, 11. At Montpelier, 437 patients—sent to regiment, 21; to garrison 16. At Brattleboro, 794 patients— sent to regiment, 65; to garrison 39. 200 patients of the Brattleboro hospital were absent on furlough and were not examined, or included in the above number.
