Boy Scout Cubs were gotten off to a flying start in Libby last Thursday night when Ralph Childs, Boy Scout executive of Kalispell, was in Libby and assisted in organizing a Cub pack. This was the first pack meeting and a large number of cubs and parents attended.
The plans and ideals of the organization were explained in detail and the leaders were introduced. There are three dens of Cubs and each put on a stunt. Twenty-five Cubs completed their registrations at this meeting. Cubs for a fourth den are now being registered.
The committee sponsoring the organization consists of Dr. J. P. Campbell, chairman, George Neils and Harry Moe. The Cub master is L. B. Kemmis.
Boy Scout Cubs are composed of boys from 9 to 12 years old. It is a training ground for Boy Scouts and Cubs are graduated into the Boy Scout organization. When the fourth den is completed there will be from 30 to 35 Cubs registered in Libby.
The next meeting of the pack will be on March 28.
