Horrible Conspiracy.—On Thursday evening, a diabolical Plot was discovered in the Bridewell, at Bellevue, which places in a strong light the evils which arise from the practice of permitting persons guilty of crime to associate together in confinement. In consequence of the better nature of one of the prisoners. who it was expected by the others would co-operate with them, it was discovered that five or six persons convicted at the present sessions, (and one who is to be tried for a still heavier crime than even his, and whose name we withhold, lest it might create any undue prejudice against him, on his trial) had resolved to seize Mr. Thorpe, the keeper, and Mr. Taylor, his assistant, at that hour in the afternoon when they usually go their rounds : to murder Mr. Thorpe, by cutting his throat; to seize Mr. Taylor, bind him, and take from him the keys, and open such of the cells as contained other persons whom it was resolved to liberate, and escape, after locking the prison, to prevent alarm or pursuit.

Mr. Thorpe, on receiving the information, procured assistance, and called out each prisoner alone, had him brought quietly a distance from the others. and then seized and ironed.- We are informed that a razor with which it was intended to commit the murder, was procured by the conspirators, and subsequently found in the room concealed, by Mr. Thorpe.

It was also discovered that another convict. who is to be sentenced this day. intended to effect his escape from the carriage which conveys the prisoners from Bellevue, by throwing snuff into the eyes of the officers and the driver who was to accompany them to the city.
