The congregation attached to the Presbyterian Church, as well as that of the Episcopal Church, have recently made considerable improvement in their churches, in painting and repairing them thoroughly. But for the ladies, who are always foremost in doing good, the churches might have remained as they were.
The residence of Mrs. Chambers has been much improved by painting and repairing-so much so that from an old rusty looking building, it is now one of the neatest on Main street.
Mr. E. B. Hill has now under roof, decidedly the handsomest building in the place. It is built of brick.
Between the village and the Baptist Church, which is situated half a mile from town, Mr. F. M. Latham is erecting a small though handsome residence.
The Trustees have also made considerable improvements in our side walks. The rough hill in front of the residence of Mrs. Day has been cut down and walled up, so as to make it an excellent walk. In a word, our town is improving in every way.-Culpeper Observer.
