Night school opened in the public school building Monday evening with over eighty scholars. Prof. Hilliard had charge of the school that evening but it was found necessary to open another room and Prof. Postlethwait took charge of the second room last night. It is thought that there will be so many scholars that another room will have to be opened and if so it is likely that Bert Woodward will have charge of it
There were 724 scholars enrolled in the borough schools the first month, with an average daily attendance of 640. Three hundred and twenty-three pupils did not miss one day of school the first month, and one hundred and fifty others only missed one half day each.
Noon hour for the pupils of the borough schools has been shortened. School takes up at 1.10 P. M. instead of at 1.30 P. M. as heretofore.
