The club has been organized for about a year and has its president Lon Harrison well known local amateur baritone artist; among some of the A-1 boosters of the Cabell Aid Club are Houston Davis, Phil Wilson, John Esters, Lester Spurlock, and Lon Hairston.
The Cabell Junior High School is coached by Carl (Holy) Watson, former West Virginia State and Garnet Hi football and basketball star.
Last Spring Coach Watson put over at the Cabell School grounds one of the biggest out-of-doors events in track that has been put over in Charleston for many a day; it was the Athletic Carnival which was an invitational affair.
Coach Watson said that the one planned for this year would be put off about a week later on account of the weather, which he thinks will be a little early about that time.
Well, as we was saying the Cabell Aid Club will be a big asset to Principal Page and Coach Watson and it is hoped that every live-wire man on the West Side will become a member of this progressive club to help Cabell school in her fight to give them a good football, basketball and track team.
