Washington, July 11.-Prosecution
of the North American Commercial
company whose lease of the seal killing
privilege on the Pribiloff islands,
Alaska, recently expired, will follow
the investigation of the seal fisheries
by the house committee on expenditures
in the department of commerce
and labor, if the charges made before
the committee today by Professor
Henry W. Elliott, of Cleveland, can
be substantiated.
"Elliott said that the North American
concern had illegally killed 125,000
yearling seals valued at $500,000.
