Full Text

BALTIMORE, JUNE 8.

Last evening a very unhappy occurrence happened on board one of the bay packets, laying at Bowly's wharf. About 11 o'clock, two persons came on board, in a frolicksome mood, and went wrestling on deck, while the captain, Lewis, was asleep in the cabin. Awakened and alarmed by the noise, came on deck, drove one ashore, and in the scuffle, the other fell overboard and was drowned--who on examination, proved to be his own son! The reader can judge of his surprise and astonishment at so lamentable and heart-rending a circumstance. We state the case as we heard it.
