ALARM IS FELT OVER TYPHOID FEVER AT ELKO

Typhoid fever has increased to such an extent in the past few weeks that it is deemed advisable to have a thorough inspection by the health authorities of the milk sold in this section—a step made with the view if possible, to ascertaining the cause for the spread of the disease, says the Elko Free Press.

Up to date, ten very severe cases of typhoid have developed in the city, with prospects of more. The health authorities of Elko, feeling that something should be done in the matter, have appealed to the University of Nevada for a pure food inspector, Prof. Dinsmore, who will come to Elko at once and subject everything that might cause fear to a rigid inspection.
