Event Details
In consequence of Capt. Whitman's return with his Cargo to Newport from Philadelphia, the Inhabitants met together, and insisted upon the few Importers there, who had basely violated their non-importation Agreement, immediately to deliver up the Goods lately received contrary to said Agreement, into the Hands of a Committee, appointed for that Purpose, which Requisition was directly complied with.
