In consequence of Capt. Whitman's return with his Cargo to Newport from Philadelphia, the Inhabitants met together, and insisted upon the few Importers there, who had basely violated their non-importation Agreement, immediately to deliver up the Goods lately received contrary to said Agreement, into the Hands of a Committee, appointed for that Purpose, which Requisition was directly complied with, and the Goods delivered up accordingly, except those belonging to one Person, who was then out of the Colony. 'Tis said, one Gentleman, among other Articles, delivered up 20 chests of Tea.
