Declaration.—We have received from the Chairman of the National Republican Committee for nominating Candidates for Congress, the following communication from Nathaniel S. Ruggles, Esq. by which our friends will learn that he declines running as a candidate for Congress.
We very much regret that Mr. Ruggles could not have been prevailed upon to stand, as he is a gentleman possessed of talents peculiarly fitting him for usefulness in Congress.
We are informed that the Committee will be called together immediately for the purpose of nominating some suitable person in place of Mr. Ruggles.
